Literary jewelry

I used to study ancient jewelry in museums for hours, when my archaeologist dad took me in his guided tours with him. My parents were also literature teachers, so I grew up in a world where everything was deeply connected to the Word.

The first piece I remember making was a necklace. I made the beads first, out of some mud near our vacation home. I had noticed mud dries hard in the Greek summer sun. I showed my necklace to dad and he was thrilled! Mum... not so much, for obvious reasons!

I started my shop in 2009, when an artist friend of mine advised me to sell my jewelry on Etsy. She was convinced this was the best place in the world for someone to sell and evolve in the process -and she was right! For me, experimenting with jewelry making took the most interesting turn when I combined it with my love for literature. What inspires me is my need to ‘translate’ a literary art form (fable, fairy tale, drama, poetry, even song lyrics) into a wearable piece. Now I just can't stop creating, as an outlet and for all the amazing people I meet here, with many of whom I connect so deeply. I feel blessed.

Amoronia is a jewelry line that loves literature, music and art. Fairy tales illustrations, classical quotes, objects that are reminiscent of song lyrics or dramatic characters, these are only a few examples of what constitutes Amoronia material. Founded by Greek designer Demi, Amoronia was created with Ovid's words 'Amor Vincit Omnia' in mind, blended with a flavor of much beloved Narnia. Demi loves quality materials and she only makes things that she would wear herself.

I accept only Paypal for international purchases. You don't need a Paypal account to pay through Paypal, just look for the credit card option.

I can reserve an item for you for 48 hours. I cannot reserve items for a longer period of time, but I can reserve it for you once more, if you contact me.

Shipping

All orders are sent out within 1-2 days of purchase, sometimes even on the same day (excluding weekends or public holidays). I always let my customers know when their order was posted. All items ship safely, ready for gift giving. Great care is taken so that gift packaging material is from recycled paper or otherwise environmentally friendly. I ship Hellenic Post First Priority Registered Mail, which provides a tracking number. If you happen to be away when the postperson comes at your door, they will leave a notice for you to collect your package personally. Shipments take 5-7 business days within Europe and 5-20 days to the United States. Amoronia is not responsible for slow mail service outside Europe, due to customs control, or for any duties or customs fees on International Orders.
